From sacred cats in Egypt to mythical beasts across the Mediterranean, this tour explores how ancient peoples understood the natural world and their place within it. Visitors will examine objects such as sculpture, pottery, jewelry, and ritual items to uncover the many meanings animals carried—as companions, symbols of power, divine messengers, sources of food and labor, and creatures of myth.
