Sunday Drop-In Tour | Women of the Kelsey

Robin Little, Docent
Sunday, July 6, 2025
2:00-3:00 PM
Kelsey Museum of Archaeology Map
In the ancient past, as now, women made up approximately half of the world’s population. But historical representations of women can be few and far between, as museums tend to focus on the histories of men or societies as a whole rather than the women who worked, tended farms, raised families, and formed communities, sometimes in obscurity.

This docent-led tour spotlights women in the ancient world. By viewing depictions of mythological and mortal women found on Kelsey objects, we can reflect on the often-overlooked importance of women in ancient societies, religions, and cultures.

This event is free and open to all visitors.
