Join Detroit-based artist and photographer Razi Jafri and UM Professors Rebecca Wollenberg and Yasmin Moll on a photo documentary tour of Muslim spaces in Detroit and Hamtramck, home to one of America’s most diverse Muslim communities. Muslims have lived for generations in this city, which continues to attract new Muslim residents. You will photograph the places and people that make Islam come alive in this multi-ethnic city, learning how to use images as storytelling mediums. Your images will be exhibited on campus at the end of the term.
