About
Hilary is a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) in political psychology and political behavior, starting as an assistant professor at SUNY Binghamton in September (2023). Her dissertation, "The behavioral effects of suppressive instituitons: Political inequality, emotion and mobilization", focuses on how voters' emotional reactions to the undemocratic outcomes from voter suppression lead to different levels of political engagement. Her dissertation is supported by the National Science Foundation (APSA) Doctoral Disseration Research Improvement Grant, the Center for the Education of Women (UMich) and the Weiser Center for Emerging Democracies.
