Meeting students face-to-face is one of the most effective ways to enhance your recruiting efforts. You can take advantage of the vast resources and variety of meeting spaces that the University of Michigan has to offer in order to reach students. Whether you want to host an informational session or recruiting event, attend a career fair, hold office hours, or interview on campus, we have the tools and space for you to do so.
If you wish to participate in any of the activities listed below or would like more information, please contact our Employer Outreach and Alumni Relations staff.
Host An Information Session
Host an information session to reach a large number of LSA students with the details of your internship program. This is a great way to present your opportunities and introduce yourself to a select group of candidates.
Whether you would like to recruit LSA students with certain majors, of particular class standings, or other groups, we will help you reach them. Our targeted and robust marketing efforts ensure that you are able to present to your ideal audience. If you would like a small-scale setting, student attendance can be capped.
Rooms are available in various locations and capacities, depending on your desired audience. They can be equipped with chairs, tables, and audiovisual equipment suited to your presentation. Let us know what you need and we will do our best to provide it!
The LSA Internship Program hosts several networking events throughout the year. This is an opportunity to meet LSA students and learn about their qualifications and interest in your field.
Often students have several questions regarding your company or organization and the application process. Hosting office hours is a great chance to talk with LSA students one-on-one. Employer Outreach and Alumni Relations staff will work with you to determine the time and location of office hours you would like to host, and will promote the opportunity to the group of students you would like to reach.
Interviewing on Campus or Remotely
Once you have narrowed down the pool of applicants, you may need to decide where to conduct interviews. If bringing students to your office is not feasible, there is an option to interview LSA students on the University of Michigan’s campus. There is plenty of space for professional interviews, and we would be happy to reserve a room for your company or organization. In addition, we have the equipment for you to conduct virtual interviews via Skype, Blue Jeans, or Google Hangouts with students who are not on campus.
