Darnell has worked in the financial services industry for more than 42 years, and has been a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley since 2009. He works with public and private institutions, businesses, accredited investors, estate trustees, attorneys, and CPAs to help them identify, clarify, and reach their financial aims and those of their constituents. He is a U.S. Government Entity Specialist, delivering the Firm's global resources to local, state, and federal governments, and those receiving governmental support, such as agencies, colleges, universities, and hospitals.
His team’s mission is to produce superior service, goal-based financial solutions, appropriate recommendations, and full disclosure while embracing ESG and DEI principles. The Jackson Group serves sectors such as the medical community and nonprofits, collaborating with medical and related healthcare systems, corporations ecclesiastic and educational institutions, the leadership of those organizations, and individuals (ranging from private business owners and entrepreneurs to CEO founders and entertainment luminaries, including Fortune 500 board members with highly concentrated stock positions). Darnell’s team leverages advanced technology and state-of-the-art solutions in their core services of asset and liability management and retirement plan asset management (including defined contribution and defined benefit plans). Since 1993 the Jackson Group, serving as senior book running manager, has been responsible for more than $9.5 billion of public and corporate finance projects in Southeastern Michigan, including the Ford Field Football Stadium, the Metropolitan Detroit Airport, and the Warren Valley Golf Course.
I love the University of Michigan for what it has allowed me to do for others. A lifetime of service is the outcome of the space I occupied in U-M classrooms. The University of Michigan gave me an opportunity at age 16 to learn and to unlearn, to win, to lose, to prove and to disprove, to agree and to disagree, to challenge and to be challenged… and for this I am grateful to serve.
Enough service is not enough, particularly when it comes to giving back to the disadvantaged, to the lost, to the left out, to the physically challenged to children, students, the elderly and alumni. I serve because I still believe in the indomitable spirit of humankind to learn, plan, love, hope and to have faith in another human being.
