Amanda Kosnik and her daughter share some selfie smiles.

Amanda Kosnik joins EEB as our senior administrative assistant occupying the front desk of the Biological Sciences Building administrative suite. Linda Garcia was previously in this role and has been promoted to executive secretary. Kosnik will be managing seminars and travel coordination for EEB and be the BSB resource for general office support including hybrid meetings, billboard updates, conference room scheduling, and copier and kitchen fulfillment. She joins the team from the Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine where she spent the last five years of her career, most recently as an animal care supervisor. She has bachelor's degrees in animal science and human biology and is thrilled to join a team where she can apply her administrative skills and further her passion for science. In her spare time, Kosnik enjoys spending time with her 3-year-old daughter, practicing yoga and kickboxing.

Cristóbal Arellano joins EEB as our student administrative assistant supporting our master’s programs. Nathan Sadowsky was previously in this role and has been promoted to graduate coordinator. Arellano will be working closely with program leadership and the graduate students to champion ongoing program enhancements, manage day-to-day operations, and provide student advising and support. Arellano recently completed his master's in higher education at U-M with a focus on student access and success and has a master's in philosophy with a concentration on social justice. In addition to his relevant graduate education, he has worked for Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum on a couple of ecology-based projects and is excited to stay involved in this area of study. Outside of work, Arellano enjoys gardening, birding, and long walks with his dog, Floyd.
