Santiago de Compostela is the capital of the Galicia region in northwestern Spain and the final stop on the historic Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. Live with a host family and experience life in the city just a short walk from the Old Town. This is a unique opportunity for students with advanced Spanish skills to spend Spring term abroad in historical Santiago de Compostela. Earn six 400-level Spanish credits while experiencing Spanish daily life.

One course on linguistics will be taught by U-M professor Nicholas Henriksen and another by a local professor. Course topics are connected to the rich history and culture of the Galicia region. Students will also study the historic pilgrimage known as El Camino de Santiago and will hike a portion of it as a group.
